We worked with Chelle and Dana over at Revel and Bloom on an invitation for a romantic Victorian styled shoot with a childhood love story theme. This was then featured on 100 layer cake! This invitation was wrapped in lace paper and navy ribbon. We also used navy velvet as accents for the placecards. Thank you Sarah Roshan for capturing the style shoot with such beautiful photos.

Last week we were fortunate enough to participate in "unveiled", an event held at the Four Seasons, Denver. Using the words "luxe" and "allure" Kerri from A Touch of Bliss planned a fabulous vignette. We contributed fabric backed menus that stood on each place setting, as well as the invitation into our vignette, which was included in each swag bag and also represented on a larger scale on easels in the corner of the vignette. The evening was filled with fabulous food and drinks from the Four Seasons, beautiful gowns from Angel Rivera and of course tons of inspiration from local Colorado wedding vendors!

So excited about the new Bella Figura designs for 2012! This year I designed 3 new invitation sets: Conservatory (top left) which is a vintage garden theme with a jade colored ink and copper foil edges. Pastoral (top right) is a illustrative garden drawing. And my favorite this year, the Royal Peony (bottom left). I just love how the peony turned out. It started as a pencil drawing and held quite a bit of detail through the printing. You can view the rest of the invitations I designed for Bella Figura here.
This post is a little overdue but we were lucky enough to be featured on Style Me Pretty this past week for Jen and Geoff's wedding. We worked with Jen and Geoff last year to come up with a modern invitation focusing on big chunky type! The invitation was letterpressed and the envelope was lined in a custom geometric pattern.
And we carried the invitation theme through to the reception stationery. The fabulous images below are from Jenna Walker Photographers.
Stephanie and Mason have a vintage inspired theme for their wedding on the fourth of July. They wanted a fun, interactive piece for their save the dates, so we found a mini red, white, and blue paper fan to attach to their save the date. So cute! The fan also collapsed making it for easy mailing. Stay tuned for their full invitation set!
What a fun invitation set! Anne and Raj met on halloween night and love dressing up together so we thought it would be fun to illustrate some of their halloween costumes in their wedding stationery set. For the invitation, we illustrated Anne and Raj in their wedding attire. When it came time for the reception items we dressed them up! Each table represented a different costume and the escort cards corresponded to that table's costume.
Oof. Sorry for the silence (a phrase I know I've written on this blog more than once!). It's been busy busy - which is great - it just means less time to do things like um blogging?! - ha!
One of the reasons this year was so busy was weddings - and not just client weddings but friend weddings to work on and attend! I love working with my friends because they often give me complete creative control - so I get to use them as guinea pigs for things I've always wanted to try. Enter our dear friends Beth and Brandon. Beth works for downtown Denver and Brandon is a structual engineer. They wanted their overall feel to be a little bit whimsical and of course incoporate the mountains since the venue was in Steamboat. So for their save the date I suggested we do a pop-up!
I designed the front to reference their love of craft beers and on the inside we had a banner giving some general information and then the Denver skyline set against the backdrop of the mountains. For the background we used a topographic map of Steamboat. So all of the elements incorporated pieces of both of them!
When it came to the invitations - we wanted to refine everything just a little bit. So, we used some of the leaf and tree graphics as well as the mountain logo from the front of the save the date. The entire set was offset printed on 130# natural white cover stock in dark grey ink.
Now it's a toss up for what I love most - the save the dates or the seating chart?! For the seating chart Beth randomly mentioned once that she loved advent calendars as child. So of course I suggested that their seating chart be modeled after an advent calendar. We had each of the couples listed and on a rough state by state layout and we drew icons to match the look and feel of where they were coming from. Then underneath we had another print with their table number. So each couple came up and pulled their tab open to reveal what table they were sitting at.
I loved how their wedding stationery was so interactive from start to finish!

For Amy and Ryan along with Jenny and Kip we decided to have some fun with their stamp placements. On Jenny and Kip's save the date we integrated their fly fishing design into the stamp so the fisherman was catching the stamp, making it a part of the design and not so much an after thought. Amy and Ryan had a winter, retro, ski theme for their wedding so on their response postcard we found it fitting for the polarbear stamp to ride the chair lift! Working an element that normally serves just for function into the design.
Lauren and Dan wanted a simply elegant inviation set that was unique to them. So we contracted Kelle to hand letter their names and monogram. With the ornate details of Kelle's caligraphy, we created a custom flourish that was foil stamped in matte silver on the invitation. This flourish also echoed throughout each peice. We finished it off with a custom wax seal with their monogram, something that Lauren and Dan can use and treasure forever.
It was such a pleasure to work with Sydney and Chad on their wedding invitations that we were delighted to learn that we would be working with them on their baby annoucements. Once baby Declan arrived Sydney decided on a western theme for their new little cowboy. We used a font with a western feel and illustrated western icons for a letterpress printed annoucement and a custom envelope liner. Giddy Up!
